Crossing Two Counties but Serving One Active Community




The French Broad River Half Marathon will be held on October 21, 2017. The Half Marathon race will begin and end in historical downtown Marshall, North Carolina. This race is a out and back PR caliber courses.  The race will run from the Town of Marshall along the French Broad River into Madison County and back.

The goal of this event is to bring a race to Western North Carolina that gives runners a chance to utilize the beautiful views of the countryside while running alongside one of the world’s oldest rivers. This race offers one of the fastest courses in Western North Carolina and will award runners for their hard efforts, 

What Makes This Events Special to Western North Carolina?

First, the layout of the course provides participants an alternative from the hilly mountain course by providing a rolling flat course along the French Broad River. Second, with the event being held in late October provides participants with a scenic view of the river and the change in the color of the fall leaves every step to the finish line. Third, this event embraces all levels of runners, from the first time half marathon runner, to post college elites in the area.
